I catch some flak for not talking about real issues on my blog… so here is a recipe for beer bread…

This is an awesome, delicious recipe that is so easy to make but seems like you spent a lot of time on it. I like to make it and give it to new neighbors. That is how you say ‘welcome to the neighborhood’!

————————–

3 1/2 cups self-rising flour

1/3 cup sugar

1 egg

12 ounces of beer

Mix it all together

Bake in greased and floured loaf pan at 350 degrees for about 1 hour until loaf sounds hollow when tapped

(I also divide it up and cook it in three small loaf pans so I can hand it out to more friends, but watch the cook time)

You can also add dried herbs to the mix before cooking

Or add some cheddar cheese! Just a handful of grated sharp cheddar pushes this over the edge.

Sounds yummy — how about a photo. I’d love to see the finished product. Great recipe!

In not talking about real issues on your blog, you have produced a lot of art that is real enough. Derivative, but real enough.

I still want jelly in the mountain of donuts and a zombie hand coming out of the grave pic still, though.

I’m feeling a little hung over from all the weekend’s disco ball action. Beer bread sounds like just the ticket!

  6. This title made me laugh and I haven’t even gotten to the beer yet!! Still partying?

  7. Would this work with Guiness? I think you should try it. Then when you get into the Guiness Book Of Records for all the comments on the “comment” post you can hand out little loaves of Guiness Book of Records Bread.

  8. Forgive the pun, but this sounds like a piece of cake.

  9. That sounds delicious. I’ll try that!

It does sound good, and I have a relatively new neighbor. However my part time job is in a grocery store bakery. I tend to not want to bake so much at home. Not that I really bake at work, I mostly put cakes together these days..

    That sounds wonderful.
