My new Scottish friend over at http://prayingforoneday.wordpress.com/ turned me on to the coolest thing ever. An English to Scottish slang translation website! How freekin’ cool is that?
So I am going to take a little break from posting all my tweets to have a little fun. Please feel free to join in and give me suggestions of things to translate into Scottish.
Here is what I have come up with so far:
————————————————
Get on with your bad self – Git oan wi’ yer ill sel
Word to your mother – Word tae yer mither
Bust a move – Bust a shift
Get out of my face – Git oot o’ mah coupon
Don’t give me any of your lip – Dinnae gimme ony o` yer lip
What are you looking at? – Whit urr ye keekin at?
I’m a little pissed off – A’m a bawherr pissed aff
Kiss my ass – Winch mah bahookie
Drop dead – Drap deid
Dick Cheney is a big, fat blowhard – Boaby Cheney is a muckle, pie-eater blowhard
And Bush was a dumbass – ‘n’ Bush wis a dafty
Shut your pie hole -Shut yer bridie nook
Don’t let the door hit you where the good lord split you – Dinnae let th’ door skelp ye whaur th’ guid laird split ye
I got drunk at Hooters – Ah git blootert at hooters… (say that five times fast)…
————————————————-
And it turns out that the Scottish translation for ‘Beam me up, Scotty’ is ‘Beam me up, Scotty’… so we are learning stuff now. Maybe tomorrow I will try typing is song titles or lyrics… or famous quotes from American history…
If you think of any good ideas for this, let me know.

When I try and say those it makes me sound drunk. I think I just figured out how the Scottish dialect came about. 🙂
HA!!!!!
I fell off my chair laughing, can you or somebody else please help me up from the floor now?
