Whenever I go back to the Bay Area, I always stop by and visit my friend John Sullivan. Unfortunately, he is dead now. But he has this memorial tree…
John now has a spectacular view to contemplate while he whiles away eternity…
We should all be so lucky. You can see the bay, with San Francisco off in the distance.
I also stuck one of my carvings under his tree. It is sort of a tiki/totem/Grateful Dead kind of a thing…
With maybe a hint of Halloween and some pure whimsy thrown in. I know he likes it…
So all in all, not a bad place to spend forever. A nice, peaceful spot where he can watch the fog slide in…
How do you know he likes your Tiki thing?
He was my best friend. I know what he likes.
That’s a beautiful tribute to your friend, both the post and the tiki/totem. 🙂
The tree thing is just one of theose things that the Bay Area is sort of good at. But thanks so much.
Beautiful post, beautiful tree.
He was abeutiful guy… turned me on to the Grateful Dead… among other things.
Nice idea, both the tree and the totem!
Thanks.
Sorry you lost your friend, what a wonderful tribute you made to him 🙂
Thank you.
I think you are Johns living memorial.
Great post! Thank you.
Thank you. I hope to have my own tree on that hill… not anytime soon… but…
This is a cool thing! I love it. XOXO – Bacon
Thanks. John was a cool guy.
I’ve always liked the idea of memorial trees, and no, one can’t complain about the view.
I like the scattered ashes thing too. I am going to get a tree on the same hill.
