San Diego has at last reached what natives of Southern California call ‘winter’.
Which just means that we have been having a lot of grey days and some rain and it gets cool at night.
It also means that the sunsets have been going on behind closed doors, which makes it hard to take pictures for my ‘taking a picture of the sunset every night for a year’ idea.
I did get a few shots…
I also seem to recall that I told you I would take a picture of my awesome Grateful Dead hat. The one that I told you about in a story I posted during Willy week. It is a good story, and you might want to trouble yourself to read it if you missed it because you were too busy looking at the pictures of the cute baby.
I hand painted the pictures on the hat with T-shirt paint. On the night I told you about in my story, there was also a fake rose stuck in the band that had those little fiber optic lights in it, and a small battery pack I tucked under the scarf. The lights in the rose petals shifted colors. Funny how in the dark, Dead Heads can be strangely impressed by a rose that glows.
What? You don’t have a big orange alien skull to model your hats for you? I guess you will just have to carry on as best you can.
And last but not least, one gratuitous new picture of little Willy that Eva put on Facebook…
Because that little guy outshines even the most spectacular sunset… sorry Mother Nature…

so you never did in fact actually answer my question…is it raining cats and dogs in SD and are you in danger of floating away or is it all media hype?
Every time it rains here, they call it the storm of the century. North Cal is getting some real rain. We had rain.

you’re just getting winter?? i had to shovel snow, 5 times yesterday, and my neighbour snow plowed for me once. i’ve already shovelled once today. the snow banks are higher than me
Hey… we had rain… that is where drops of some wet stuff fall from heaven and make the roads slippery and keep me from taking sunset pictures…
(I have seen real winter… but that is how southern Californians really think)
