Art and revolution; Change is gonna come!

As this is now becoming a mostly anti-ICE and tRump blog, the look might change. The humor will remain, though tinged with rebellious sarcasm. This is all a work in progress, both blog-wise, and in lifestyle as well. I leave … Continue reading

The diary of an entirely-unprepared and thoroughly-over-enthusiastic insurrectionist… part 2 (Or), How I ended up standing all alone early this morning out front of the Portland City Hall, wearing a dark cloak and a home-made Statue Of Liberty mask…

Today was my second official protest in downtown Portland. I mean official to me, not to anyone official. I stood outside City Hall with… ummm… Nobody. And I did research this time. Turns out that ‘ongoing’ protests do not actually … Continue reading

So, I moved to Portland, Oregon recently, and today, I joined my first protest against tyranny, standing shoulder to shoulder with those on the front lines, right outside the ICE Headquarters Building! (Or); The diary of an entirely-unprepared and thoroughly-over-enthusiastic insurrectionist.

I was excited, and a little bit apprehensive, but I drove downtown, and approached this bastion of evil. This might have been the single most anticlimactic moment of my life. It was an intimidating building, but only if you looked … Continue reading

Once upon a time, there was a king who had a face like a pumpkin, and a brain that was about as useful for thinking as the inside of that pumpkin that he so resembled. One day, his advisor entered the oh-so-tacky throne room. Making his way past the assemblage of lackeys, parasites and posterior smoochers, he addressed the king. “Sire, the peasants are revolting!” The king replied without thinking- (as he was prone to do), and said. “Oh, they aren’t that bad”.

That is a stupid old joke. I may have dressed it up a bit. But the thing is, (hey, thing) this here peasant is, in fact, revolting. I am joining the revolution. I am becoming an activist. I am slowly … Continue reading

Look, I know people are not particularly interested in my vacation photos, so rather than typing up little personal observations, historic backstory, my own thoughts and emotions upon interacting with thousands of years of history and great works of art, critiquing the current culture and its fashion sense, relating the heartwarming stories of all the dogs I met, recalling locals that I met with whom I struck up a conversation and learned a more intimate insight into everyday life- (okay, most of the people I interacted with were the owners of all those dogs I was petting, and I felt that it would be awkward not to talk to them while I did it.)- or indulgently going on about my amazing family, I am just going to show the rest of the really good photos of London and Windsor Castle and some stuff without all the annoying words.

Until we get to the Cotswolds, then all bets are off.

This tiny wooden sailboat took part in the Dunkirk evacuation of the surrounded British and French forces that were trapped between the frigid English Channel and the advancing German army and air force in the early, dark days of World War 2…

The British Navy was stretched thin, fighting against both the Germans and the Japanese all over the globe. Big ships could not approach the French beaches without running aground. Soldiers were forced to try to swim out to the nearest … Continue reading

Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle… (or); If you live in big house full of expensive stuff, you need a good security system…

And now, in this stressful, malodorous, contentious, stage of human history, as we all ballet dance across a thin layer of pond scum that is all that keeps us above the festering, rancid, turbulent swamp that has been, not drained, but rather restocked and replenished with new and ever more abhorrent forms of mutated, soulless bottom-feeders that live on the despair and decomposing, corrupted, fetid remains of our hopes and dreams, I offer you a few humble photos, to wash the taste of reality from your minds, if only for a brief moment…

I have finished a few new acrylic paintings… part 3…

These were requested by my two young cousins, when we visited them in the UK on our recent trip. The girls wanted, and I quote: “A rainbow monkey”, and “blue and purple flowers”, respectively. I did what I could.
