I got my first rejection letter from a literary agent… and I couldn’t be happier!!!

Because that means I am actively involved in sending my stuff to literary agents. The thing is… and this is a thing you should already know about me… but I am all-art-side-of-the-brain… which means that I can come up with endless ideas of things to write about… children’s books, science fiction, songs, poems, short stories, etc. What I can’t do is market myself.

Between my silly water reflection posts, I am going to do a few posts where I ask for your help. I need advice… feedback… I need help. And if we aren’t helping each other here, what the hell are we doing?

So please, when you see posts that say the word ‘help’ in the title over the next day or two, read the words. We all might learn something from the questions I ask… I just need to figure out exactly what those questions need to be.

I’m glad you’re happy about your rejection – and I understand why. But the pleasure starts to pall after too many people tell you that your work ‘isn’t quite right for our list’!

I knew you were up to something – I read in the news that California got weatherbombed, and yet you were just putting up flowers.

  3. Well done for getting that ball rolling! And after half term I’ll be cracking through seven kingdoms.

I stand by, awaiting to offer whatever help I can can! But seeing as I can’t do marketing either, I might be useless. But I’m here for you, Arthur!

Congratulations on the beginning of a wonderful and sometimes difficult road! If you need help or someone to guide you through the process, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

    Congratulations!
I prefer agents who send rejection letters over the ones who can’t be bothered to respond at all.
