While we were in the Bay Area for the holidays, we went and saw our Godson, Willie, and his parents, in San Francisco.

Willie’s mom was organizing volunteers for another beach cleanup, a thing she is very active in. In the distance, on the left, you can see my older daughter, Jessica, and her boyfriend, Jason, cleaning up the world one bucketful at a time.
I also spotted this cute little shorebird.
I find it fascinating that birds are so specialized… that there are birds that find all their food in that strange, shifting place between the land and the sea.
Also, I now want a stairway to nowhere…
Because a stairway to nowhere really leads to anywhere…

And this is why a clean beach is so important…

Because it gives you a place where a kid can chase you around with a stick.

Love this, Arthur. I was on that beach a couple of years ago… and now I see it in photos on your blog and hear of someone who’s helping to keep it clean. Blog land never ceases to amaze me! Hope all is well 🙂
Things are going swimmingly… ha… see what I did there…
Good! And yes! 🙂
ha
Looks like a lot of fun.
I do try to have some of that.
Bwah ha ha give ’em a stick and they go from godchild to helspawn in only a few steps.
I was actually more worried about that excavator thing… still have bruises on my shins.
Awww, poor shins. I had to go back and peek at the excavator it didn’t show up the first time I opened the page. My internet is really messing up. I’m switching to another provider this week to see if that will help.
I hope it does
Me too, I’ve had an entire month of really awful internet service and I’m tired of it.
that stinks
Such lovely photos!
Thanks so much.
