I have five words for you… hop-on/hop-off busses…
There I am, listening to the historic narration on the pink headphones provided on the busses. And there, by pure coincidence, is St. Paul’s in the background.
The busses take these big, circular routes all around the city, and it is a great way not only to get to know the area, but you can use it for free transportation also.
Riding on the top deck of the double-decker busses, which are open to the sky, gives you a great all-around view.
I was walking on the Tower Bridge and just happened to catch one of the busses in my picture. My wife did a lot of research because there is more than one bus tour company. The Big Bus is the one to get!
If we hadn’t been riding the bus when we passed this little church… which was a special church for airmen during World War Two…
And if I hadn’t been listening to the narration…
I would never have found out that those pock marks on the side of the church are some of the last bits of bomb fragment damage left over from the Nazi bombing in the Second World War.
I don’t even remember what that building is, but Mollie took the picture and my head is in it… so of course I am posting it.
So when you go to London, don’t rent a car… that would be crazy. We used the famous London cabs quite a bit too, but the bus tours are worth doing. Don’t try to learn how to drive on the wrong side of the road inside London.
And just so you know, I rode the bus past this old pub three times before I finally remembered to take a picture of the serious wardrobe malfunction going on above the door on the fourth trip. HA!
It is the royal courts of Justice, I go to a nice cocktail bar close by at One Aldwych, they let me in wearing my scruffs for some reason.
I wish we had met…
Sounds like you were busy enough. It’s a hectic city, I rarely get to catch up with my friends who live here as we are scattered around, north to south, east to west. I’m in town tonight, going to a pub near Marble Arch, so not far from Selfridges, maybe I’ll take a pic in that window with the reflection 😀 I could just retrace your steps like a ghostly stalker
I thought you all were retracing my steps like ghostly stalkers… all over the world…
Tell me you went inside that pub for a pint, at the very least…
dude… you are going to swoon over my Britishness…
If you’re gonna go Brit, you gotta go propa Brit.
just wait
I think the unknown building may be the Royal Courts of Justice on the Strand. I thought I’d seen it before in a scene from the movie “Bridget Jones’s Diary”, where Bridget has to go interview someone in an extradition case. Is this it?
I should recognize a court building… uh… I mean… ummmmm……..
😀
sigh
Still don’t want to play?
…ooo000ooo…

Sorry Art, I meant face. Those fingers get out of line. I’ll have to discipline them.
Leslie
I knew that was what you meant… I have to tease you now and then. I am not doing much Photoshop stuff with these… too many to get through.
Art, I’m fair game cause I’m always teasing you.
