Once again, this post is really more of a reposting…. like the last post I did. That is because these two posts, way back in the very early days of my blog, went together. Technically speaking, these two posts are now part of my ‘Name that piece of Art’ series, because they have a bunch of pictures with my face in them. I could have just done each picture separately for the series, but the words still sort of crack me up. So come up with names for any and all of the pictures in here…
(Oh, and just so you know, I am not a violent person, nor do I support the Nazi party. I was trying to teach myself how to use Photoshop, so I combined two things I loved… history and my face. I have studied military history… and history in general… for years. Not because violence or war fascinates me, but because during wars history is condensed. More inventions are made in times of national struggle, especially medical advances. Wars show the best and the worst human beings are capable of. And wars change the flow of history. We are who we are because of war. If we hadn’t fought the Nazis, we might all be Nazis right now. Think about that)…
This post was titled;
—————————————–
You will get better…
Suddenly, after a few weeks of playing around in Photoshop… (or a few days or even a few years, depending on how much free time you have and how your brain works)… you realize that you sort of know what you are doing. Maybe you got yourself a how-to book… (Been there, done that, it wasn’t pretty)…
You have come to view the cloning tool as your friend. You play with layers and learn how to remove the edges around your face with the magic eraser tool set so that the background doesn’t get erased too. It is all starting to make sense.
Your art begins to come to life…
You begin to blend the foreground into the background, and become one with your surroundings…
You can feel yourself crawling slowly forward towards your goal of artistic greatness…
Don’t be timid… Walk right up to Photoshop and challenge it to a duel…
Keep pushing, keep surging ahead. You will be victorious in the end!!!…
When the going gets tough, just smile… and remember that this is supposed to be fun…
Lead the way for others to follow…
And remember also to add a little color…
yes, definitely, red and yellow…
You are an artist, after all…

I was laughing so hard at this I was crying – seriously Art
That is all I live for.
OK well I hope you’ll be around for a long time to keep making me laugh 🙂
me too… why… do you know something I don’t???
No – I was just talking to someone about blogs vanishing and how bewildered they felt when that happens. Bewildered is a good word, don’t you think? Since I’m still a newbie, I haven’t had the experience yet, but I know if it happened with bloggers I like, I would be upset.
I have seen many people disappear… and sometimes it does hurt… sniff…
I’d give the top picture the title, “Old Norse.” By the way, doesn’t that magic eraser tool take a lot of time?
It does, but that and the smudge tool and the clone tool are awesome… that is all you need. I once did a post where I listed all the tool and menu options in Photoshop… oh boy…
Or picture yourself in an alien war, and you don’t have to limit yourself to just red and yellow…
I am sure that is coming soon…
Knowing you and aliens, I’m sure it is.
