I have been doing these funny music posts, but there is one thing driving me crazy, musically speaking…

I wasn’t paying attention, and I am not one hundred percent sure, but I think I saw a commercial for a power tool company the other day featuring the Bad Company song ‘Feel Like Making Love’…

The thing is… Hey, we haven’t had a thing lately, have we?… I am not really upset with them for selling out… Wait, I mean making a few dollars by letting one of their songs serve as a commercial jingle. I love Bad Company. They are underrated and overlooked by many music snobs. But they are the best garage band in rock history. Their songs are primal and not overthought. Paul Rogers sings with passion… And Bad Company is not Bad Company without Paul Rogers… Their rhythms grab you and do not let go…

All that being said, it just seems like a strange choice of song for a tool company. I can’t describe exactly what it is that bothers me. But it does.

That’s a great song but…yeah, my first thought was that it’s a strange song for a power tool commercial, or…kind of appropriate in terms of innuendo.

What? Power tools don’t sexually arouse you??

It makes sense. After all if you don’t use power tools safely, they will grab you and won’t let go. I’m thinking circular saws, chainsaws, etc. 😉

Duuuude…. I love Bad Company. More power to em for making some money for their art, I guess. I’m gonna flick some on the ipod and have at it, at work and all. Gonna be sweeeet. Someone get me some more coffee.

  5. it’s odd the songs that are chosen for ads. My favorite though was Counting the beat by the Swingers for a Target ad run in Australia.
