Here is another submission to my art contest… sort of…

a 1 a 1

Here are a couple beautiful oil painting by Cheryl over at: http://cheryl-pettigrew.artistwebsites.com/ She stumbled onto my blog somehow and saw that I was having an art contest. She sent me these two paintings. They have nothing whatsoever to do with my blog. So they do not, technically, belong in this art contest, per say. But she wanted to share them, and I do a little painting myself… so here they are…

a 1 a 2

I think they lend a certain respectability to the proceedings… and who knows… there might be crack squirrels hiding in those woods…

Since the images look almost like they are on a mirrored surface, maybe they represent a reflection off your sunglasses?

What do you mean sort of?

Actually you’re pretty clearly there in those pictures Art. For instance in the first one, the gorge can be interpreted as your blog pouring your essence into the world through a narrow slit in the cliffs surrounding your brain that protects the rest of us. You thus join the stream of normalacy a small bit at a time – allowing the rest of us to dilute your madness. However behind the gorge sits an obviously large pool of abnormality surrounded by wilderness – hence the trees, the black sun (or eclipse) and the clouds that appear to be figures swooping in the air around your pool. The trees in and around your brain are the romping ground for the squirrels when they need a break. The stout walls of indestructible rock were provided by karma so the rest of us could be protected from a full assault by your brain.

That’s just scratching the surface Art – but i’m sure you can now see how applicable Cheryl’s submission is. Very classy, by the way.
