Why do we tell each other to have a good day?

Whenever anybody tells me to have a good day, I always say: ‘Hey, you have two or three good days, in case I don’t see you for a while’.

Stop being so stingy.

What, are you saving up all the good days for yourself?

Thank you for bringing this to my attention because I am guilty of hoarding good days by only wishing people one good day! I will forthwith change my closing with “have a few great days! And y’all come back now, y’hear!”
