I was 4 hits away from my goal of 100,000 views, and I asked him to pop over and push me over the edge… and he did… because he is cool like that… so go check out his blog if you are one of the few people who don’t know him already…
Stat monkey wants you to know that there are still a few more stats we need to reach before he can take a banana break…
We are now at 95,304 comments. He wants to bump that up to 100,000 too, you know… just to keep up with the views.
That post we did called: ‘Comment here’… you know, the one where we are trying to break the record for the most comments on one WordPress blog… is now up to 27,620 comments. Stat monkey wants to try to reach 30,000. He is funny that way.

There is some weird stuff going on in those comments. I might print them all out someday and turn them into a coffee table book… or a play… maybe a musical… who knows?

On Thursday, when you did your “need 250 more views post”, i clicked through all your Maui posts once again, then clicked back to the start, then hit refresh a few times, and the stats counter didn’t even add one view. What if WP doesn’t count minion visits? If it doesn’t, your true stats could be in millions.
Sometimes it takes a while for them to catch up. Also, I noticed the number on my blog front page is always a little lower than the one on my stats page for a while.
Ok, just for the sake of testing, i’ll try to refresh one of your posts like a hundred times, and you can see if anything changed

wait… it does seem to have gone up quite a bit.
That might be useful to know. Maybe they do not count anybody who just reads through their reader because they are already following. Plus, there is that whole ‘visits’ verses ‘views’ thing

oh… this is awkward… it can’t really work that way… if I followed all 2,000 + people that follow me, I wouldn’t have time to read all the posts they do, or do posts of my own. What I do is keep an eye on new people, and pop over to their blogs now and then and see if it is stuff I love. The more clever the comments I get, the more often I visit. I know this is a selfish way of doing things, but none of us can follow everybody we meet here, right?
