So that cop gave that homeless guy a pair of shoes…
And now the homeless guy isn’t wearing them…
Because he says they are worth a lot of money…
So what, is this his investment portfolio, or is it more like an offshore bank account???

The minute I heard this story I knew the guy would not have them within the week. The problem is either A) someone would steal them due to how expensive they were or B) he would sell them for the money. He would have been better off with $20 boots. The thought was awesome though. The reality of the streets is another thing sadly.
I know, but that isn’t funny.
Ok, how about this for funny… “I heard the guy was going to by him some Nikes and the guy said.. Just Do It!” … hows that for funny? 😀
There you go.
whew. I get my funny card back.
It is only a probationary measure… walk carefuly…
tip toeing as I type
Tip toe, through the keyboard, with me.
Has no one thought of the possiblility that they were stolen from him? Boots and socks would be a valuable commodity and would stir up jealousy, envy and larcenious thoughts in his fellow homeless neighbors. Something like that could even get you killed in some places. He may have surrendered them willingly to avoid physical abuse or as protection payment. Or…he may have sold them to support some habit…
I think some news station interviewed him. I didn’t bother to find out. It is just about the joke.
That is interesting. But we all do things like that, don’t we?
If I am starving and someone gives me food, I don’t hide it.
Have you ever been in the position this guy is in? Those boots may be the most valuable thing he’s owned in decades — I am guessing he is treasuring them instead of using them. I would wear them, but I have never been as down and out as him. My thoughts, anyway!
I have lived on the streets. I sold blood to eat…. my blood, but still. It is winter. Sometimes survival comes before anything else.
Homeless people have standards and definite tastes. He doesn’t want to hurt the cops feelings, by not wearing the boots, so he’s telling everyone they’re hidden for safekeeping. He probably re-gifted them.
My brother was homeless, until he died, and he too had very specific tastes.
So maybe there is more going on than meets the eye… or foot.
He wouldn’t carry the Coach purse I bought him. It’s as though someone is starting a hashtag of what the homeless guy won’t wear.
Another fashion victim.
He won’t wear the Knicks Bomber jacket I gave him, either!
He is just hard to please, and has his own fashion sense.
it’s kind of sad because he’s probably never been given anything or taught how to handle money. he is probably in pure survival mode.
Then he should wear the shoes in winter.
i know what you’re saying, but..
I couldn’t agree with you more…
See how annoying that is?
no i like it!
I agree with that too… and it will get old after a while.
yes it will i agree
I agree that you are agreeably agreeable today.

It is nice that we have something to agree on.

Isn’t it though?
absolutely
positively.

Without a doubt.

Well said.
i agree
We agreed that you are agreeable.

Undenyably… undeniably… undeniyable… it’s true.

You can if you want to… ha. Ninja style.

Forsooth… that’s truth Shakespeare style.

Thank you, your holiness.

Kiss my… ask me no more more questions, I’ll tell you no more lies.

You are right again!

So far… now stop farting around and read my practical joke post, dang it.

You haven’t heard part two yet.

Oh yes.
i can hardly wait
Yes you can.
i still won’t barf
You have to see it live and in person.

Well that is sort of the point, isn’t it?
what is?
You drive me nuts.
did you say you want some nuts?
Down! Bad squirrel…
and here i thought you were an elephant!
I can see how you might get us mixed up.
i’m glad you understand 😉
Well, it does look a little like an elephant’s trunk… ha!
oh man, that hadn’t even crossed my mind…pft
Well that’s what I do… think up the stuff that no one else bothers to.
well think down 😉
Did you just think that up? Hahahahahahahahah
i just thought it sideways
pay it forward
Preachin’ to the choir, girl…
AAAAAA men
Indeed.
I wasn’t all too familiar with this story until I read your post. This is hilarious!
It started off as such a beautiful story. Then you just end up wondering if some people can’t ever be helped at all.
