I wanna go back, to my city by the bay…

If you have found yourself enjoying these pictures of the Bay Area, do not be distraught. I go back there at least two times a year, and sometimes as many as eight or nine. So there will be plenty more pictures in the future. Not to mention the old pictures I can scan. But let’s just say goodbye with a few more random shots…

Yes, I am aware that this is not a picture of San Francisco. It is the new Oakland bay bridge being built alongside the old Oakland bay bridge that was damaged in that big earthquake. I took this shot from Treasure Island. But I couldn’t very well just post this picture all by itself, now could I?

Ha! Now I am just messing with you. That is the Oakland bay bridge again, and Treasure Island, but this shot was taken from San Francisco, so we are getting warmer…

How about Coit Tower, a Bay Area monument in its own right?…

And here is one more, just for fun…

That is the Transamerica building, looming in the background. We East bay dwellers refer to it as the pyramid building. Its distinctive shape has become one of the iconic parts of the San Francisco skyline, even though we didn’t really like it all that much when it first went up. Oh well, I hear the same thing happened with the Eifel Tower in Paris, and they seem to have gotten used to it…

  1. What is that ‘flying’ in the third photograph down? It looks like a bird of some kind – a stork? Liked all of the photos.

  2. Dear pmao,

I like the building, it looks like it’s about to blast off.
