Sorry to break up the flow of my sentimental San Francisco Bay Area journey, but by now I suppose you have all heard about San Diego’s big fireworks foul up.
You know how we American’s are always trying to do things faster. That is why we invented fast food. Well, this time we outdid ourselves.
San Diego was putting on a major event down by the bay. But instead of fifteen minutes of delightful explosions of light, there was a technical glitch. All the fireworks on all four barges went off simultaneously. But not in a good way. Not like a condensed but wildly exciting spectacle boiled down to its pure essence. It was more like a few bright flashes in a big cloud of smoke. You might want to Google it if you can’t get a mental image.
Don’t worry about us. We go to a local high school and watch the fireworks there, because we have found that medium-sized pyrotechnics going off right over your head are at least as exciting as big fireworks going off in the distance. And we don’t have to fight so much traffic.
But a lot of people were pretty disappointed by this premature discharge.

I saw this, too funny…(but really not)
Oh, it’s funny alright.
You made the news here on the east coast. No. Really!
You mean me, or San Diego?
Looks pretty cool. They should have gone along with it saying “what problem, it was supposed to do that”
Plausable deniability?
I like how you think anyone on the east coast acknowledges the existence of anything on the west other than LA. It’s cute.
With so many military out in San Diego you think they would have tried harder.
Should have let the Seals handle it.
