Bay Area Dreams… Part 1

Time to start going through those pictures on my Father’s Day camera and reliving my youth at the same time…

First, I think we need to set the mood.

In order to understand the Bay Area, you have to understand that it is like no other place on the planet. Just as a random example, let’s take the way people paint their houses. In some places, a purple house would seem unusual.

And a house like this…

It might make you wonder if the owner was a retired barber or Santa Claus.

In the Bay Area, there are no rules…

If these few shots are not convincing enough, here are a series of pictures of a house that might change your mind…

This house is just plain interesting…

This house is owned by an interesting lady named Bebe…

She is from Egypt. But she says the words on her house are her own language. She walks around the neighborhood blessing plants and cars and things with some kind of liquid in a plastic bottle which she sprinkles on with a feather…

Just so you know, I do not think she has ever driven that car.
I didn’t drive around looking for strange houses. I just stopped and took some pictures when something caught my eye.

I hope you will keep an open mind.

I wish my neighborhood looked like that.

If an Egyptian woman living in America can make her house look like that and get away with it then there is no question the Egyptians built the pyramids on their own. I don’t care what the Ancient Aliens people say.

Love them! We have odd streets in London where every house is painted a pastel colour, it’s nice but nothing reflecting individuality, just think they have always been thsat way and it’s probably written into the contracts to keep them that way.

    I think I’d like Bebe

  7. I lived 6 months in fremont. (San Diego prior). Memories
