I know… It is hard to believe how many things you can do in one day in the Bay Area.
After the redwoods and the English pub, we climbed Mount Tamalpais. This mountain is just a few miles from Muir woods and San Francisco. It is also well worth the time it takes to hike to the top. It is an easy 15 minute walk and offers a view of San Francisco that is a little out of the ordinary. And on a clear day, you can see all the way to the mountains where Yosemite nestles…
Just look at those faces, captivated by this view…
Just don’t forget to take a picture of yourselves gratuitously making muscles and talking in an Italian accent…
Oh, just do it… what could it hurt?

When I was 19 years old, my best friend and I left L.A. to travel north and join the “circus” (i.e. The Renaissance Faire!) We lived at the campground on Mt. Tam for a couple of weeks…it was a great way to be young!
(I love that pub, too!)
I used to go to the fair. And I used to hitchhike all up and down California when I was a wee teenager.
