I know nobody cares about my stats, but…

I just noticed that I have over 5,000 comments.

I have said that I am bad at math, but I have only done 248 posts.

So 5,000 is at least twice as much as that, right?

Lately I have started reading back over all my old posts… and not just because they still crack me up…which they do… but because I have been reading my comments in order and context. And I still say I have the best, brightest, smartest, most wonderfully funny commenters on the planet!

That being said, my hits have dropped from the 200’s to the 20’s and 40’s. I have been told not to panic, that  it is just summer and real life getting in the way and keeping people busy. Stupid real life!

But I like to panic. It keeps me calm and focused. So I am.

I am also going to use this time when nobody is reading my blog anyway to continue clearing off my phone pictures so I can start to fill up my new Father’s Day camera.

You have been warned…

Lots of pictures for the next few days…

And thanks, commenters… I love you all.

  1. Dear pmao,

It HAS been quieter than usual, but don’t be down – look how many followers you’ve got. I sometimes look at those Freshly Pressed blogs and see how many followers they’ve got because of just one post and then I think sod it, I’m not doing too badly WITHOUT a big leg-up from WordPress. It’s like the actors who tread the boards for years and years, gathering loyal fans along the way and then along come some snot-nosed young sods who couldn’t act their way out of a paper bag but get cast in a massive block-buster. I’ll shut up now.

    Love Dotty xxx

  2. I’ve come to realize views are so subjective. Between those who never read it, or those that stumble there by accident, some times the number means nothing. I did some post about “love” and the awards and it gets like 400+ hits alone just from people looking up the word love. I know these folks aren’t “reading'” my post but I usually just hope some explore further.

PS, if you quit leaving for all these weddings you seem to attend, things would stay high. LOL

I am only commenting to let you know that I was indeed here, and didn’t click the like button from the reader (which I’m pretty sure a lot of people do for me). Anything else I could say would make me sound ridiculous and pathetic.

    200s?

    [sigh]

    • I am not sure what you are saying?

        That’s fine. I wasn’t either.

OH. I remember now. Some posts I write get “liked” without actually being viewed. This is because people can like your posts directly from the tags reader now, they don’t even have to read it.

So, it’s a little frustrating, is all. If your average daily views are in the 200s, that’s pretty amazing for someone who has only been blogging for 6 months. You also have more followers than we do already. 🙂

            • Now I feel bad about complaining. I think it is just because I tend to ramble off in lots of directions, so I attract people for weird reasons. They don’t all come back when I change directions again. You sort of focus on reading, so you get a more dedicated readership… Like me, for example…
You are less like a variety show.
I just did a post about those people who ‘like’ everybody right down the post pages. People have no shame.

So, let me see if I have the math right. Your hits have gone from what many of us only see once in a blue moon, down to what many of us see most of the time. And you have 5000 plus comments. And 223 followers. I don’t quite see where panic fits in this equation…

  6. Your hits may be taking a hit, but your math is getting so much better. Write on…
