I still have a few pictures left from the day I took little Olivia down to the La Jolla cove.

She loved the seals.

We watched the mommy seals teaching their babies the fine art of swimming.

It was also one of those spectacular San Diego winter days where you can go to the beach in shorts and a t-shirt.

The mommy seals are very attentive.

They stay very close to the little ones.

We just happened to be there at the right time. It doesn’t take long before the babies are expert swimmers. In fact, we already saw some youngsters that were swimming out into the big surf on their own.

But some of them were still not ready for that yet.

And that is what mommies are for.

So cute. We have a seal colony near here, but you have to go by boat to get to it. So thankfully people can’t interfere with them. You can only see them from a distance. Although the boat does go fairly close so you can get a good look at them. I am hoping my back will improve so I can go there.
I wish you luck with that.
