What the heck is that, I can hear you asking, a coconut with duck feet??? No, that is a duck with duck feet. It even has two of them, even though you are only seeing one of them, and the other is folded up into the feathers.

That first photo is an optical illusion created by taking pictures through thick, curved glass and from below the waterline.

It turns out that you can get some really weird effects by changing the angles of your shots.

And where, you might be wondering, can one find a duck floating in water, conveniently located behind thick, curved glass?

Why, at the hippo pool at the San Diego zoo, of course!

Because that is where I went yesterday with my little buddy, Olivia.

But finding a duck hiding one of its legs is the tricky part.
