These are the last pictures of my days staying with my cousins in Santa Cruz, helping out with the baby… and playing with Clark.

That kid has so much energy.

He never stops moving.

There is my Cousin, Mallorie… Clark and Campbell’s mom. You know she is a good mom…

Because a good mom climbs into a tiny crawl-tube and hops around like a demented kangaroo-worm…

… just to hear her kid laugh. Now, I am not saying it was just because of me and my sneaky ‘degassing a colicky baby’ tricks… but you know who you don’t see in these pictures?
This guy…

Because little four-week-old Campbell was not crying all the time anymore, and was even sleeping now and then.

And when the baby is happy… or at least not crying… then mom gets to spend time with the other kid.

Once again, I am not claiming all the credit. It might have been a coincidence.

But either way…

I climbed part way up a hill behind their house to take that picture… I would have gone farther, but they terrified me with stories about ticks…
Oh, and I promised weird cats…

And I always deliver on my promises…

Yup… that’s Niles and Frasier…

No… I don’t know what the deal is with those two… but I had to stop letting them sleep with me, because one of them would wait until dark and then rub his face on my face so hard that it would move my head back and forth no matter how hard I tightened up my neck muscles… which is cute… for the first five minutes…

Okay, we are nearing the end of the adventure… except for the fact that I got up at 3:00 AM the following morning and drove down most of the coast of California, seeing all kinds of cool things… and some neat animals… so… uh… yeah… See you back here soon.

As a live-in granny, I’m a close witness of the struggle my two-and-a-half-year-old granddaughter has with accepting that her new baby brother is here to stay and also merits some attention. I’m sure you helped Clark so much by being there for him. What a beautiful kid! The little one is really cute too.
Thanks, my own kids are nine years apart, and we still had that problem… Ha!
The bigger the gap, the more the older kid realises what’s happened!
We thought we just had a free babysitter…
😀
yup
So cool Art!
now it gets awesome…
The one cat pooks like it could eat us in our sleep.
