All we managed to do with political correctness is to make idiots, racists, homophobes, and other assorted mentally deficient, don’t-believe-in-evolution-because-they-never-actually-did-evolve morons get really good at covering up their hatred and bigotry and small-mindedness when they were out in public.
Did we really expect them to change, to grow, to get smarter… what’s the word… oh, yeah… evolve???
Now, Trump has opened the Pandora’s box… or would that be the Trump’s mouth… and now, it’s like the Schrodinger’s cat box, only with the Trump mouth, you can’t tell if a person is evil or not until they open their mouth.
A perfect example of this is Ann Coulter on the national news, insisting that we can’t ‘P C police’ her mouth when she insists upon calling Asian Americans ‘Mandarins’… seemingly unaware that Mandarin is really a group of related languages spoken in some parts of China. Oh, and then she did one of those sarcastically condescending not-an-apology apologies just like her hero, the Donald.
So, political correctness had finally begun its pendulum swing back in the other direction, where the pea-brains of the country will insist that they aren’t racist or homophobic, its just the ‘war on idiocy’ trying to take away their God-given right to be complete jerks…

Political Correctness, was never anything, but a method of whitewashing underlying complex social issues, and protecting the sensitive ears of hypocrites.
sure… if you want to say it in a well-thought-out, well-broken-down manner… but I don’t do that here… HA!!!
Sorry, I got carried away–went straight to the deep end.
I barely had time to get my floaties on…
Heh heh heh…he said “ass”,
oh yeah
Being a jerk is a God-given right. But at least now we know who they are.
Right. We taught them how to hide in plain sight… but then we assumed they were getting better somehow.
More like devolve.
exactly
Sigh.
wheeeeeeeee
“Political Correctness” isn’t the problem. Trump and now everybody else uses that phrase a a euphemism for “I can say whatever the hell I damn well please, whether it is mean, racist, sexist, homophobic, or whatever.”
right, but all political correctness means is not saying that stuff out loud.
I disagree — there is a big difference. Political correctness is making sure to call someone an African-American and not reverting to “black.” Trump’s way is to call them the “n” word. And he’s making it OK to do so.
right… we substituted the idea of using nonoffensive words instead of offensive words, but we never got rid of the underlying thinking behind those words. It is just a form of politeness, but it doesn’t go any deeper than that.
for sure…
word…
