Red rocks and wedding bells…

a 1

Okay, so in the middle of our camping trip to Quartzsite, Arizona, my wife and I had to leave to drive to Sedona, Arizona. This is because Jason, our older daughter Jessica’s boyfriend, took her to Sedona to propose to her. And about a month ago he began texting my wife and I… and his parents… to get us all to meet them there for a celebratory dinner after he did the proposal. It was just a coincidence that we had already planned to be camping in Arizona the same weekend.

Sedona is an awesome town in red rock country. Unfortunately, for this trip, we got there with just enough time to clean up in our hotel room before the dinner, and by the time dinner was over, I was too tired… and too drunk… to do anything but go to sleep… and it was pitch black outside… and the next morning we needed to leave too early to see anything interesting.

Don’t worry… I did manage to get up before sunrise and do one of my adventure walks, so there will be pictures of that in a later post.

Right now, I am just sharing the pictures I took as we drove into town while I assure you that, when Jessica and Jason showed up at their favorite Italian restaurant in Sedona, Jessica had no idea that we were all going to be there.

Needless to say, it was an awesome evening.

If you want to see more pictures of Sedona, do a search on my blog. We went there before, and I did posts about it.

My wife told me to stop putting pictures of my kids on the blog… but if you want to see photos of Jessica… even some of when she was little… you can search those too… because I put some on before the ban was imposed back in the early days.

Also, you should really visit Sedona.

We didn’t even make it into the main part of town on this trip. But it was worth all that extra driving to see my daughter’s face when she walked into the restaurant.

Sniff… stupid allergies…

  1. Pretty confident young man to arrange a celebratory dinner before he actually proposed. What if she would have said no? Glad that worked out as expected.

    Great pictures, Art.

Red Rocks is AWSOME! Ever been to a concert at the natural amphitheater there? Amazing? So are you nervous about your daughters upcoming wedding? Is she nervous? I would be peeing myself if it was me, I’ve never married, not because there is anything wrong with me but because all the time I was growing up nobody was ever good enough for me, and dad.would end up driving them off. Then when I was in my 30s he started worrying that he would die without me having a man to take care of me so he started trying to fix me up with guys, especially ones he knew from his neighborhood. After the third disaster i had to put my foot down and ordered a cease and desist on that. The last guy he fixed me up with was very good looking…dad loved him because he lived in a house right across the street from him , and dads house is in an expnsive area, actually I live in the same neighborhood just two streets over…and he had a computer job for cable compamy just down the street ánd he walked to work every day, and he always kept the lawn nice etc etc…well I went out on exactly three dates and then ran as fast as I could. It turned out that he walked to work every day because he didn’t have a drivers license because he was fresh out of federal prison for methamphetamine manufacturing., the job he got because he took computer classes in prison and that job was one of the terms of his parole. After he spoke two sentences you could tell his brain was fried from doing his own product, and i think he smoked it because if you looked closely enough his teeth were brown,. I have never dated since. I only rarely have gone out with someone since then and it’s a always someone I know, and now that I’m 47 and dad is 86 I don’t want to marry because if these men know me already they know my family as well and I run the risk of being married for money…and I’m keeping total controll of that when the time comes. Also I like solitude. So there’s my life story…hope you enjoyed it !
