Well this part really just introduces a bunch of characters, and sort of sets the scene. But every new part is going to build and get even wilder. Not that the first part isn’t good. But if you like it, you will want to keep going.
You may want to read The Riftwar Saga by Raymond E. Feist. Not because you need to, but because I think you might really enjoy it. By the time you get to the last book, A Darkness at Sethanon, you know a whole world of characters, and still really care for them.
I think mine will grow on you. I know they grew on me more than I was expecting.
Of course they will — I don’t mean to criticize at all. I just thought you’d enjoy the series. Please don’t think I am comparing you to Feist. When you said introducing characters, I thought of that series.
I may have to check that out. I am short of reading time nowadays.
Maybe this summer. I recommend this, and another of his series, The Serpentwar Saga. But read the other first. Maybe this summer…
