I am confused… but not that confused…

Okay, the truth is this; I went away for the week to go camping.

I did the previous post just so nobody would know the house would be vacant.

Okay, that is not entirely true. There is a little more to it than that. I have been having doubts about where my blog is heading. I have veered away from the art and morphed into a photographic essay type of blog. I do find myself wondering if this is the best way to go. And my daughter did say that I should try not to make it too easy for people to track me down and show up at my house… (I am reasonably sure that anyone who would go to all that trouble just to find me would be looking to get my autograph, not cook and eat my entire family, but some of you might just be more creepy than you would have us believe, so why take chances?)…

I also saw an oppurtunity to start a discussion on internet safety, while simultaneously finding out what you all think about the direction my blog has taken. So I sort of killed three birds with one stone. And I got some great feedback.

I am not giving up on the blog in any way. I have always tended to become fixated on one particular aspect of this blog, run with it for a while, and then suddenly and unexpectedly go shooting off on yet another tangent. That is all this is. I am having fun with my Father’s Day camera. I got caught up in it. It won’t last for much longer, my brain doesn’t work that way… (If it did, we would still all be looking at funny pictures of Dick Cheney as a gynecologist, or ninjas doing silly things)…

So bear with me a little longer. I have some great shots of our little camping adventure. Then back to the Bay Area for just a bit, to see some very generically safe pictures of fog and cityscapes and cemetaries and friends. And then, at the very end, I will tie the whole thing back into focusing on my art in some phenomenally clever and convoluted way, and then I will meander off in some new direction that, as of this moment, I have no idea what direction that could possibly be.

Because that is just who I am.

Thanks a lot. I feel insulted. You mistrust your readers and think we’re all crazy. I’ll have you know I may be crazy but I’m completely harmless.

    • Hey, my family mistrusts you. Not me. I said I was fairly sure you weren’t going to cook us and eat us. But there are thieves out there, so I try not to mention that I am going to leave my house unguarded, except for the poisenous snakes, barbed wire, mines, attack gerbils and lasers…

  6. Do whatcha gotta do. I’ll follow as long as I’m interested and I can’t really see that changing. Pictures. Stories. Cheney. Whatever works or all of the above.
You DID fool me. I was giving you space. Duh!

  7. mmmmm, should I feel lied too? sniffle sniffle…

My interest in my camera lasted longer than I expected. The same goes for the blog. Six months with this one. I used to have this habit of starting a new blog everytime I started getting creepy comments or weird followers. Now, I don’t care. This is just a whatever blog, but I seem to be concentrated in 4 or 5 areas. Camping is fun.

Your living room couch is very comfortable. I would reorganize the dining room a bit. Also, I finished your cheese. Pick some up on the way back.

    • Dude, you could have at least flushed the toilet…
Maybe cut down on the cheese a little…
And I think you left a pair of Sponge Bob Squarepants boxer shorts under the coffee table. I will wash them… they really need it… and mail them to you…
The thank you note and the fresh flowers were a nice touch.
