This is a test of the emergency broadcast system for not panicking in advance…

So don’t panic.

Tomorrow, we are going to be driving home. But here is the thing… there is always a thing… My wife took the next week off from work because we are stripping the wallpaper off the walls in our bedroom and bathroom, and then we are painting the walls. There is going to be furniture moving, and sweating and swearing and turmoil and confusion. Then we are going to start work!

So even though I have been driving all over the Bay Area with my new Father’s Day camera getting unique shots of the bay and the fog and strange works of art and unusual houses and cute dogs, I may not have a lot of time to do anything with them. In fact, I may not have time to even type up any of my humorous observations, crazy stories, hilarious jokes or delightful insights. I will do what I can, and get by on less sleep than I need, because I know how much you all count on me to enrich your lives, but if I seem to drop off the radar, do not panic.

Besides, has anyone else noticed that since summer began, most people seem to have dropped out of sight? It is like a ghost town around here, and even the spirits are on vacation. But we will all get through these doldrums, and before we know it, the breeze will freshen and our sails will fill, and we will all resume our voyage to wherever the heck it is we are all trying to get to.

Oh, but you can take some lovely before and after photos of your demo project. I insist that you do so!

Have fun with the redecorating (and swearing!). Thanks for mentioning how it’s like a ghost town in WordPressville– I thought I missed a memo or something. Maybe I’ll take a break, too!

  4. Do what needs to be done. We’ll be here when you get back. Catch you on the flip side…
