Yes, it is good for writers I think.
It is easy to say what you want to say when you have all day to say it. Saying it in three sentences forces you to really think about it. Wow, it just occurred to my what Haiku is all about.
lol, I am not much of a haiku fan, but I think it is because they are too often used wrong.
I also find it to be a refuge of the pompous. But I can see how the idea came about in a new way now.
