But this wasn’t the zoo, it was the San Diego Wild Animal Park… where I took my 17-year-old daughter today…

Don’t get me wrong… It isn’t that I think birds are unexciting. I am actually a bird watcher in real life, as embarrassing as that is to admit… and I like the challenge of photographing birds… they are fast and move around a lot… in many dimensions… and the colors are awesome.

But let’s face it… they are never going to compete with big cats and primates.

But trying to get them in focus for the perfect shot is tricky… like that one… that looks like some kind of crazy turkey with yellow pebbles glued to his face… Seriously, look at the colors of the bird and the plants in that picture… that is awesome… I love that crazy zoom lens.

Wait… what the heck is that? Is that a duck in a tree? Standing on one leg?

Yup… now I really have seen everything…
