Story time!
I love story time…
I also love that time when you know she is starting to fall asleep… because, man, that kid wears me out.
After her nap, she played with her favorite stuffed dogs… and then we played ‘flying doggies’… which consists of her throwing the dogs off the couch and me picking them up and lofting them through the air onto her lap while I say “flying doggies” in silly voices… over and over again…
Then we played ‘is this where the socks go?’… for a while…
Eventually, I always run out of funny places to put the socks…
We tried coloring with some crayons… but she is a little young, and doesn’t hold them right, and can’t push down hard enough to get the colors on the paper, and gets frustrated…
And when a kid starts to look at other things to try the crayons on… (when my older daughter was little, I once turned on our garden hose to water some plants, and crayons came shooting out of the hose like colorful bullets from a machinegun)… you know it is time to do something else…
One of the best things about babysitting a kid that belongs to other people is that you don’t have to pick up the mess… oh, yeah… I have the coolest job in the world.
