And then I spotted this place…

As soon as we threw our bags in the room of the hotel, we walked over to check out the beach. Which was like 30 feet from our front door… and over to the right, I spotted this place…

The Sea House… restaurant and bar. From the inside, it had this view of the beach…

a 1 a 2Oh, we enjoyed many tropical drinks in this place over the next week…

a 1 a 3So many colors… so many flavors…

I admit, these are not the most manly looking of adult beverages…

a 1 a 5But you have to make some allowances when you are visiting a tropical paradise…

They also served some awesome pu pu platters…

If you do not know what that means, I feel sorry for you…

a 1 a 8There were also these cute little red-headed birds…

a 1 a 9They looked a little like Cardinals, but I am not sure about that…

a 1 a 10I do know that they never checked with the hostess before being seated…

I don’t drink anymore, but I love the virgin version of most of the drinks you show! Mmmmmm pina colada . . .

Those cocktails are right up my street, tropical paradise or dirty backstreet boozer. Every hour’s cocktail hour

  3. That has to be one of my favourite things (among many) about Maui. You never feel like you are eating/drinking inside. The beauty is always right there.

I don’t know what a “pu pu platter” is, but I don’t like the way it sounds.

  7. Maybe those birds were the long-lost Hawaiian cousins of the red cardinals. They just happened to fly in the wrong direction when leaving the nest.

I did a quick Google search and they’re called red-crested cardinals. Beautiful birds — thanks for posting their pictures!

And oh, boy, those platters look so good. Yum!
