Sorry if it seemed as if I have been ignoring you, but I was attending the graduation of our oldest daughter from a very respected institution of higher learning.
Not bad for a guy who dropped out of high school in the 1970’s.
Oh, man, that kid has got it goin’ on…
Jessica, you will rule the world some day… when I retire from the job…
Now when do I get that yacht you promised to buy me when you were three or four years old?
(Sorry I am editing this, but I just realized something)…
Before, it felt like my daughter was just away at school… Now she has a job, a boyfriend, her own place, and suddenly it seems like she is really gone… sigh…

My mom was proud of me for not becoming an alcoholic. I cannot even comprehend how proud you must be of your kid(s).
That was like the most generous, sincere thing you ever said… are you OK?
It’s my religion’s High Holy Day. If I’m really nice then Lucifer will return.
That seems counter-intuitive…
Yeah us Scientologists don’t really have our facts straight.
The dark side isn’t supposed to be easy.
It’s a bitter truth that from the day we receive our children we are teaching them to leave us. Congratulations.
We have to remember that we are raising good adults, not good children… thank you.
Hey darlin, how many kids do you have?
Congrats to Jessica!
Two, and you will learn all about them when you fulfill your duties as a stalker, scissors or no scissors. There are pictures, stories, all that stuff. And you will have the added satisfaction of knowing you helped me get my 10,000 hits.
The best thing about this post? ……..Feeling the Pride you have for your kid….You can tell how much you love her….
We are so similar, we can drive each other crazy. She is like a more successful me.
Congratulations to parents and daughter!!!
Thank you so much.
It’s a poignant happy time.
Hooray for Jessica and her exciting, independent life and hooray for her parents brought up and exciting independent daughter!
Everybody wins.
The whole world wins.
Congrats Jessica! She reads your blog right? All goes to show you did a great job on the parenting thing!
I helped.
Awesome! Well congratulations, to the both of you!! When the world-taking-over begins to commence be sure to mention to your daughter that I was good to you! Haha, just kidding 😛
You will be well taken care of.
My oldest daughter is heading off to college soon, so I’ve also been busy. And I’ve found myself too emotional to write anything remotely funny. I sigh right along with you! Love the title, by the way.
Thanks, and good luck.
Dear pmao,
But she hasn’t really gone – no matter where she is or what she’s doing, you’ll always be her dad.
Oh look, I’ve gone soppy.
Love Dotty xxx
Impregnation, the gift that last forever…
Job well done – both of you. I wonder if it’s like everything else, like you get use to it. I often wonder now that my son’s graduated but not yet gone- Who’s going to let the dogs out when I’m not home when he’s gone? And who’s going to pick up the broken pieces of this old mom’s heart when she’s missing the bejesus out of him? Good luck. To both of you.
Thank you. We do still have Mollie to do chores and keep us warm.
Congratulations! Sorry if you feel a little loss, but I hope you enjoy the freedom and satisfaction in knowing you raised a productive member of society.
That does help.
Good. That is what I’m here for. That will be $50.25.
Can I work it off?
How hard do you work?
I am between jobs…
I gave you an award you probably already have… but you deserve this one anyway…hope that’s ok
Thanks, I’ll check it out in a bit
no worries.
Thumbs up for you and especially your daughter! I be havin’ one next year and will consider it a raise.
Awesome. But it feels strange. Before, it felt like she was away at school. Now she has a job, boyfriend, and apartment. Seems like she is really gone, you know?
