When I was a fighting man,
The kettle drums, they beat.
The people scattered gold dust,
Beneath my horses feet.
Now I am a great king,
And people hound my track.
With poison in my wine cups,
And daggers at my back.
That was written by Robert E. Howard, creator of Conan the Barbarian… (I think he wrote it. I can’t be expected to look up every detail, can I?)…
I just like the way it sums up the whole quest for power thing. Be careful what you wish for…

Amen brother!
Wait, which part are you supporting, just out of curiosity…
Be careful what you wish for… I think I sort of got what I was wishing for in that I’m across the country and away from the in-laws, affectionately known as “The Crazies”. However, as it turns out they can impose just as much stress from 3,000 miles away as then can in person. To make matters worse, my oldest son (23) is there holding down the fort for us while we are away and I’m afraid he’s being subjected to their caustic, melodramatic BS. These people have no boundaries. So… long story well… long, I got my wish but I’m afraid it may be at the expense of my son’s peace of mind and that’s definitely not cool with me. Wfew! sorry, that was a bit of a rant. You can send me a bill… lol
And yes, I get that my wish wasn’t directly related to the quest for power… your last words struck a chord with me. 🙂 Thanks!
I am many things to many people…
Jeesh, that sounded pompous didn’t it? I am glad you found something to take your mind off things, if only for a moment. Or did I just dredge up the subject? In that case, I’m sorry.
No worries. I was already stewing about it when I came across your post. However, if you could send one of your amazing ninjas to southeastern CT to “handle the situation” it would be much appreciated!
They only kill people inside my brain… sorry.
Yes, I know. I suppose I was out of line. After I hit reply I realized that in this day and age such a statement could be taken seriously by some onlookers. My bad.
Anyway… peace, love and all that jazz 🙂
Yes, I believe that the current custom is for the authorities to frown upon assassination for hire.

Peace, man.
No peace till the ninjas go away…
I liked the ninjas and Adolph, most amusing!
I am nearing the end of the ninja run…
I will check that guy out soon
How do I find this Old Jules guy? I tried to go through the reader, but I can’t figure out how to do a search.
