Whoops… I totally lied to you… by accident… I hinted in the last post in this series that the next post in this series would be a bunch of pictures of Mollie… my daughter… and I, feeding the lorikeets… (which sounds like a bird name made up by Dr. Seuss)… but I forgot about a few other bird photos we took at the San Diego Wild Animal Park…

Like a mommy duck and her babies…

How cute are they?

Awwwww…

And I just need to slip in a couple of quick flower pictures…

Sorry about that, too…

And then there were the pelicans…

Everybody likes them, right?

And sleepy flamingos…

A whole bunch of sleepy flamingos…

And those… well, I forget what those are, but they are as big as flamingos, stand on one leg like flamingos… but have sharp beaks like freakin’ hawks.
Okay, coming next, cute little lorikeets.

Ha! I was looking at the pictures and ignoring the words when I got to the flowers. After 3,717,437,563,827 pictures of birds, I searched and searched and searched the picture for birds and couldn’t find any. Then I read the text and realized there were no birds. Ha!
I am sneaky that way
You took pictures of COOTS!!!! I love coots. They are the most awkward, silliest of birds (the bird books call them “duck-like” — they aren’t ducks, they aren’t their own type … I love coots.
Thanks, Art.
Did I mention that I love coots?
what about bandicoots? or old coots…?
I love old coots but I’m unfamiliar with bandicoots. Coots are also called mud hen’s. I love coots. I’ll have to find my post on coots.
bandicoots are a mammal… old coots are also a mammal…
