I am beginning to wonder if perhaps WordPress is a sinking ship… Are people going to other blog sites? We all know that many of our favorite bloggers have vanished for one reason or another. Are the annoying changes that WordPress keeps making driving them away, changes which seem to be aimed at making their paying customers happy at the expense of the rest of us… (or so I have to assume, because nobody I ever ask is happy with them)… or maybe people are getting burned out, and just giving up blogging altogether?
I am going to do a post later, a post that, while it will n0t offer any answers as to what has happened to our missing friends, will give supportive evidence that WordPress is not doing as well as it once was… either that, or I am not as good of a blogger as I was before… and that’s just crazy talk, right?

The truth is not always a good thing…
I am struggling at the minute with balance and the first thing that gets sacrificed is reading blog posts, they are all sat in a folder in my inbox so I may get to them eventually just not going to say when lol
I am not guilt tripping anyone, just… ruminating?
Was not suggesting you were, I know I have my regulars who read every day but I have also found that I find some people binging, they don’t visit for a week then do ten posts at once, would be interesting if there was a way to see what delivery settings followers had, how many receive instantly, daily or have turned off notifications altogether.

You are a pre-eminent blogger. I mean, I can’t keep up with your posts and really can’t even try anymore, but you always make me laugh and often you make me think. But seriously Art, in what leisure activity do people really spend time where 95% of the other people hanging about are totally fake? I think people are starting to realize that, and aren’t putting the same time into this anymore. Folks are vanishing, for sure.

It’s been a mixed bag of frustration. My overall stats are up, new followers, few and far between.

I think traffic comes in fits and starts. Users that give up blogging end up making way for new users.
