And where did you stay whilst in London towne, I hear you all pondering…

At this place right here…

Yes, it is the lovely Tavistock Hotel… located conveniently close to Tavistock square… which is a lovely park…

a 2

It is also not far from all the excitement of London.

I wish I took a picture of the view from the room my wife and I shared… it was not good… but my mom and Mollie had a room overlooking the park…

a 4

There was also a strange tower of some sort nearby…

a 5You can see it off in the distance, like some looming space rocket.

I liked the statue of Gandhi in the park. The hotel also had a very nice café out of the street where we ate after spending hours on the plane just getting there. This is how my mom looks when she is tired and I say something stupid…

a 7

Bless her heart… because I say a lot of stupid stuff…

The BT Tower! (Telecoms back in the day when it was used) closed now due to IRA bomb threats decades ago I think, but I won a ballot a few years ago to go up there, I think I put photos up on my blog of the views. And there are new ballots now to go up and use the dining room, it revolves, takes about 30 minutes. And it did feel like going in a spaceship, everyone was so excited entering the lift to scoot us up there.

Tavistock Sq was where the bomb on the bus exploded during 7/7.

You were very close to my stomping ground of Camden Town!

Lord Thunderin’ me son, me son. Y’all traipsed a loooooong, loooong way before taking a hotel – across a continent and an ocean. Quite the little journey. Cool pics and your Mom (they call them “Mum” in England) looks sweet. Looking forward to more.

Ahhhhh… your mom is so cute. So, like, what happened? I had to ask… Did I tell you I stayed in a loft in the Cotswolds? It was awesome, and it never rained!
