And other random images of Maui…
Because… you know…
Why not?
What about these footprints of some birds on a beach…
Or these strange statues guarding a gate that we found while driving aimlessly through the hills…
Because they were awesome…
Or how about these little plants growing on a wall made of black lava rock?
Or these bubbles that were frozen in time when this piece of lava cooled…
Or some weird stuff on the roof of a place we ordered some take out food…
The totem shot is amazing. Did you see many of them on the island, or was that the only one?
I didn’t really see any. I mean, I saw lots of small tiki carvings. Those look like they might be from Bali or somewhere.
So it’s not a Hawaiian tradition then. I wondered.
The tiki thing is, but they aren’t usually very big. Totems are more a Northwestern Native American thing.
Yeah, I’d seen the totems up in Washington. I wondered if the Hawaiian’s had a similar tradition. Apparently not. And then look at Easter Island. They made massive ones out of stone. Interesting….the size differences…
The art and culture of the world is sort of a big mix…
And isn’t that what makes it so much fun 😉
I believe so.
Beautiful! Beautiful! Beautiful! And I absolutely love those statues. Very kool.
I want some in my yard.
