Actually, Shatner is wrong. 255 = 11111111 in binary system; in Hex system 255 = FF. Yes, I can count beyond 10, and not just in decimal system. Shocking, isn’t it?

I am all art side of the brain… no idea what that means…
In the binary system, “10” is what we normally call “2”: this is because in decimal system we use the digit on the right is ones, next digit to the left is tens, next digit is hundreds, and so on. In binary, it’s twos instead of tens, fours instead of hundreds, eights instead of thousands. So, lets say, 19 = 16×1 +8×0 + 4×0 +2×1 + 1×1, so it’s 10011 in binary.
If you’re getting any of this, your left side of the brain has now been activated.
