The artwork is taking a little longer to finish than I thought it would. The book is more about the art than the words, so I want to get it right. But I thought I might share one of the pictures with you…
I was hoping to publish it while my daughter is here visiting so she can talk me through it. But I think I will have to wait until early next month when she comes back.
I hand painted the girl and the monkey with watercolors. Then I scanned it and did a little cleanup work and the green background in Photoshop. I think it is pretty cute.
Some of the pictures are going to be sort of weird… in a really funny way… There is an interesting back story to how this book idea came about. I wrote a three page paper explaining it, which I was planning to include in the back of the book. My daughter tells me that is a bad idea.
So I might just type it up here and see what you have to say about it.
