So I just wanted to see if I could get recordings of some of my songs off the cool little multitrack recorder I got for Christmas, and put them in the blog. Sounds simple enough…
But I am a computer moron, so thanks to some help from Ed Hotspur, I tried to set up a YouTube account, which turned out to be more of a Google account, and then put the music in there. But it wouldn’t do audio files only. It wanted video. I didn’t have any video, so I stuck some pictures from Photoshop in there to make a fake movie. But first I had to download Movie Maker. And then I had to figure out how to link with the blog, and that took hours, and again Ed helped, but now I think that post up above actually is the song from YouTube, if it works for you.
Unfortunately, in my panic, I didn’t want to use an original song recording in case I lost it, so I used a Bad Company song, and now I will probably get sued by one of my all-time favorite bands.
If the link works, that is me singing… there are really two of me singing, because I did two tracks… and me playing a slightly too loud guitar track to a version of a Bad Company song, along with some funny pictures, and a picture of a dog I loved very much. The song is not very well done, and I should have taken the time to do a better version, but if this test works, I can do some seriously funny stuff with some of my original songs. Well it worked! …and I enjoyed your singing. It made me feel peaceful. That is until the wedding suit picture suddenly changed to “my best man is a chimpanzee”. That made me choke on my coffee. Thank you for sharing your music. Jen
I just used some of my old Photoshop pics to cobble together a fake movie. Now that I sort of know how to do it, I can make my own music videos… maybe… Thank you for listening.
