Because it has awesome views, that is why…
I didn’t even have time to go to the best picture spots, because it was closing, but there is a little Japanese pagoda by a stream, and there is a waterfall, and I could go on…
These pictures were taken from a little hilltop we always called the plateau. In case you can’t see the view too well, let me just zoom in a little…
San Francisco across the bay. This is a great place to watch sunsets without dealing with crowds… of living people…
And yet it retains just enough of that cemetery creepiness to make it fun and spooky at night. What’s not to love?

It’s only creepy if you have pre-purchased your plot.
I don’t even pre-purchase a plot when I write a book… Ha!
Y U No post pagoda?
I didn’t want my friend’s cars to get locked in for the night. Sorry. I let you down.
No, you didn’t. Just wondering.
Next time I am there, your pagoda awaits… it is really just a little statue of one… although there is a nice Japanese garden one in SF.
I’m betting SF has some great Japanese gardens.
It is like Fant-asia… get it?
Cemetaries ARE cool. And personally I think that the departed appreciate and enjoy the company of folks who recognize that. The places are like parks only more serene and peaceful usually.
We always felt that adding a little life to the cemetery didn’t hurt. And maybe some laughter and song and romance would be appreciated by the locals.
Because cemetery’s are cool.
Beautiful!
I know, right?
Cemeteries make great subjects. Plus they don’t make unreasonable – or even reasonable – deva-type demands. Cool shots.
The un-walking, un-living dead… so reasonable it is almost scary.
