I spent an hour and a half doing all the links and jokes and everything.
I was almost done.
Then I hit one wrong button and lost it all.
Then my draft got saved automatically.
I have no idea how to get all that back, and I don’t have the heart to start all over.

Sorry you lost your stuff. I always highlight what I’ve done and copy it before I submit. If I push the wrong button then I can just start a new post and paste it.

I have about six or seven awards, but I don’t have a sidebar on this theme, so they just hang around, way down there…
Reading through, I find that your stuff are really good. I honestly don’t know how they choose those posts but don’t give up hope. As for that posting thing you should give Windows Live Writer a go, your computer might already have the program. I’ll try to figure out a way to straighten things out … All the best:)

You can type your draft post first in Microsoft Word and save it until it’s ready, then copy and paste it onto Word Press and publish it.
Seems like I will run into problems with all the links. I have to link to my own posts and to other blogs. (I’m scared)

Well, the humor page, category, whatever its called. You have to get on freshly pressed first for some reason. I get published in art and writing and other areas all the time, but humor is special.
Haha, that is truly the worst feeling. Just knowing that you put so much work into something…then it just vanishes 😦 It’s just a bad magic trick…but don’t worry about it. You didn’t let me down!

I started to write all my stuff in Google Live Writer and then send it over to my blog as a draft before I commit.

Lorre, do you mean Windows Live Writer? Unless I’m posting from my phone, that’s what I use as well. I never use the WordPress interface for risk of what happened to our buddy here–because it’s happened to me.
I feel better that I am not the only one having this problem, because I am sort of an idiot.
I’d like to think I’m not quite an idiot but it’s still up for debate. Either way, yeah, I’ve lost stuff in the past and Live Writer just works. Try it. Definitely worth it.
And don’t feel bad about not being featured on the Humor page. In my 5 years on WordPress (I used Blogger from 2004-2007 prior to that), I’ve been featured only once on the Freshly Pressed page even if my post quality has improved since being featured. Oh well.
I have seen some pretty juvenile stuff there.

This has happened to me several times. The worst was with a Trashy Tuesday (those take a long time to write) that I’d been regularly hitting the save draft button on. Then WordPress went down and none of the drafts were saved. I lost almost 1000 words that I then had to attempt to recreate. 😦
I think it was my fault. It was all blue, like I selected the whole thing, and then I was dragging it all across the scree… I panicked. And it all went bye bye… sigh.,..
