I have my ‘love and flowers’ hippy side that sometimes comes through…
(Notice that there is both colored pencil and paint used here… we begin to touch on multimedia)…
Even the battles themselves where occasionally whimsical…
I like castles…
And surrealistic alien landscapes…
And just plain weird stuff. This picture can be turned in any direction… there is no up or down in… A Comedy Of Arrows…
Meanwhile, I took my first, faltering steps playing with watercolors… a deceptively difficult medium to master… (Which is why abstract art is so great… no one else knows if you do it wrong!)…
And yes, I still drew a lot of violent stuff, but it was getting more sophisticated, more clever…
This strange picture of a Japanese machine gun nest is actually a 3D diorama. The background with the U.S. Marines landing is mounted on a bent arch. The guys in the bunker are cut out so you can actually look past them… Unfortunately, the scanner cover squashed the whole thing, but maybe you get the idea…
So where does this all leave us… or take us,… or whatever…?
Well, let me tell you…
If you can draw, even just a little, and paint, and play with art in the computer, then there are no limits to what you can do with your artistic visions… None whatsoever…
This is multimedia… combining all types of art, and even photos of the real world, and bending them to fulfill your wishes. You are creating life from light and color, and this means you are playing with the very cosmic origins of the universe… And having fun doing it…

Hey… I have a question…
I’m trying to teach myself to draw… I’ve been at it for awhile… like 5 days… and I’m getting pretty good actually.. (I’ve taken it very seriously, and I get pretty good at things I take seriously.) I’ve gotten pretty good at looking at something and drawing it as I look at it…
So, I’m wondering how much harder is it to draw something from memory or made up than to look at it and draw it… it seems crazy hard… so I guess i’m REALLY wondering if it gets a lot easier… lol…
pointless second reply so I could click the notify me of followups by email, lol…
Huh?
It is just practice. I find drawing made up stuff way easier than capturing reality. We aren’t cameras.
Apparently I need to change my name to Nikon. 😀
Polaroid…
That is some weird stuff. I like the alien landscape the best, something about that skull snake that will likely show up in my dreams tonight. Thanks a lot! Anyway, you are one multi-talented man, though I’m sure you’ve been told that before.
Nope. Nobody ever told me that. Thanks.
you’re a wicked artist!
Pfffft.
i meant that in a good way!
Me too.
Love this stuff, good stuff. You should check out my freinnd blog here on wordpress – also multimedia art http://krishnachameleon.wordpress.com/
Okay, that was some cool stuff. Thanks.
Reblogged this on Pouring My Art Out and commented:
Something old… something new
Watercolors and I don’t really get along, but I like yours. I also really like the first picture, the whimsical battle and Comedy of Arrows.
Ooh, you remimded me I have a bunch of half finished watercolors to scan. Thanks.
Do you have more finished or unfinished things?
I will never run out of stuff… trust me.
I meant do you have more finished pieces than unfinished, or vice versa?
It is so hard to say. There are boxes and drawers full of stuff. It might be an even split.
Yeah, I don’t know that I can even answer that question. I have so many unfinished things and that’s been bothering me. In fact that was my new year’s thing, instead of making resolutions my project would be Things Unfinished because I didn’t even finish the previous year’s resolutions. I was looking at it as a flaw but now I’m not so sure.
I have an idea… let’s just put all the unfinished stuff on our blogs, and then call them done.
That’s a great idea, a ‘Things Unfinished’ project on our blogs. Only I probably wouldn’t finish posting them all and then *that* would be unfinished as well, ha!
I have decided that scanning unfinished stuff is perfectly acceptable in the context of this blog.
I would have to agree in your case. I’m enjoying seeing how you’ve improved and developed and it’s not boring because there’s a little bit of everything.
Dear pmao,
I like the surrealist one best.
