Why is it that the same people who worry so much about the slippery slope… the people who assume that if we pass one law that makes it harder for a mentally unstable person to get a gun then the next obvious step is the army storming his house and taking away his collection of assault rifles… or the ones who are sure that if we allow gay people to get married then it will only be a matter of weeks before we see a man marrying a sloth or an aardvark or a squid… seem completely unfazed by the slippery slope principal when it is applied to a woman’s right to choose, or voter ID laws that make it harder for minorities to vote?
