On Easter, at my wife’s aunt and uncle’s house, I was playing around with the new camera and the zoom lens…
That is a hummingbird at the very moment that it is taking flight.
And there’s another one.
One of the many woodpeckers.
Who can make their own houses.
A couple of finches.
And a lone finch.

That bottom bird looks like it’s wearing sunglasses!
You never know…
Those hummingbird photos are simply breathtaking!
Thanks. I love the one where he is getting ready to take off.
May I ask, if it has not already been done, why these birds to not have the same ugly head as the one featured in your earlier post?
Nature is funny that way, I guess…..
I’m glad to see that nature is still in charge of things like birds. Except, I guess for the poor little eagle in your earlier post who suffered from too much inbreeding.
I want to fly like an eagle… sing it with me now
Lovely pics, Art
thanks
I can’t wait for the hummingbirds to return. Hopefully I get more of them than bees this year. I also like the woodpecker. I just had a friend pass away, I will think of him with every hummingbird and woodpecker I see. (he gave me my hummingbird feeder, and just last week we watched woodpeckers at the feeder in his back yard)
Nice photos Arthur! Love to you! 🙂
yay… and sorry…
Julie, there is a lovely song called “We become birds when we die”. I hope your friend is a hummingbird.
That is awesome… I need to learn how to do those link things in comments.
That is NOT the video I copied. You will have to look it up. But the Beatles are nice, too.
Ha… I didn’t look at it because I am scared I will get another virus and get kicked out of my house…
The one that appeared was the Beatles I’ll Follow the Sun
But not too closely…
Crazy awesome shots! I love humming birds!
they are awesome
Nice zoom on that there camera, Arthur.
Love the zoom!!!
Nice birdshots!
thanks
Wow – awesome shots Art! Love the Humming Birds! We won’t be seeing them here in Ohio for awhile yet, but the days are finally getting warmer.
I got in my first motorcycle wreck in Columbus
Last weekend? Are you ok?
No… I was like 17…
Ok I’m lost
This happened years ago… but it was my first motorcycle wreck…
Ok… that’s random. Have you had others as well?
yup
Hi Arthur
hello
ha
wheeeee
Ha again
Thanks for doing two single ‘has’ and not the dreaded ‘haha’ or ‘ha ha’
Heaven forbid – you teach your minions well
Takes up most of my time
Nice. How many are there?
minions? or times?
Minions!
oh… millions of them… we are taking over the world you know…
Yes I remember that news. And we’ll all have islands as well!
I promised, didn’t I?
Yep – and I’m holding you to it. Awhile ago your friend Trent did a post that had islands for sale on a website called Alibaba – so there you go
Once I… we… rule the world, I won’t have to pay for them.
true
We have to cut down the overhead
agreed
Just running our secret lair in the hollow volcano costs quite a bit of money
Oh I’m sure it is. Is there really such a thing as a hollow volcano? Seriously
Well, we had to hollow most of it ourselves… be glad you got here late.
Oh ok, sorry to hear that – I guess I should be thankful for that at least
I think so
It wasn’t that random… you said something about Ohio…
Yes I figured that out – when you jump back in it’s sometimes hard to figure out where you are – sorry
well, it was a bit random… that is how my brain works
and that is how your blog works
It would seem so
Did you have a good day tweeting Mr. Idle?
I am… not in a position to be overly active on the interwebs at this moment…
Ok…do you wish to elaborate on that?
not until… maybe Wednesday…
Is it not Wednesday where you are?
I mean next Wednesday…
Ok – so secretive, eh?
yup
OK
sure
Now I am unsure how random that actually as. You mentioned a state… I said the most interesting thing that happened to me in that particular state… that is fit for print on an open blog… My main failing seems to be my lack of segue
What the heck is segue?
A thing you say to indicate you are changing topics or moving into a new area of conversation. News people and entertainers need them because they talk and don’t get responses from people. For example, you don’t do a news story about a building fire that killed 20 people and then jump into a story about cooking hot dogs without adding some clever divider… called a segue… you at least have to say, “And speaking of the smell of roasting meat, here is a bar-b-que cooking tip for your summer grilling.” It acknowledges the change and makes fun of the tackiness at the same time.
Also, a Segue is one of those two-wheeled, stand up electric transport things.
Got it – but I thought that was called a segway
If you insist on being provincial
Yes, I must be provincial, Arthur
I can accept that
Good. Tracy says good bye – she will try to follow you also. We had Mexican for dinner and she brought strawberry margaritas
those are the best… and say “yay” to her…
I will 🙂
…ooo000ooo…
Incredible timing on that first photo. Good shots, Art!
Loving the camera.
Spring has sprung ! Great pics.
Birds are cool
Fab photos especially the Humming Bird.
Thanks
