Let’s talk about monkeys some more…

I finished the art for the cover of the book… sort of…

a 1That is more or less what it will look like. I finished all the little details and clean up art. I might make the monkey a little bigger or move him somewhere else… thanks, Photoshop… but that is the general idea.

I still have the option of using the version with the darker outlines. Some of you liked that one…

a 2I haven’t done all the clean up work on this version. There are some things I like about it. But the monkey doesn’t stand out so much.

Tell me what you think. And remember this book is for little kids, so try to think like a little kid. In fact, you might as well try to think like a little kid whenever you read any of my posts… it will make me look smarter…

Yep, definitely the first one. Looks great. I thought the monkey was going to be hanging upside down….don’t know why, just how I visualized it. Must be how I see the world.

Stick with the new cover, the monkey gets lost in the pic with the darker outlines. Make the monkey a little bigger though.

  3. I like the top one, what about having the monkey hanging from a tree?

  4. I like them both. A lot. But I think I end up liking the top one now. Wonderful art!

Now that the monkey is in the scene the first version looks better, he sort of gets lost in the second version with the darker lines…

You see what happened? I put a question mark instead of an exclamation. THAT is how bedazzled I am.
    Damn!

    • I didn’t even notice. I am a horrible speller. If I didn’t have the spell checker thing I would sound like an idiot. And I am a computer moron with no real life skills.

    • Do you live in India? I would love to have a friend there. I love the culture, the history, the food, the traditions, the fact that the people can type better English than most Americans…

      • shreyapunj's avatar shreyapunj says:

Hahahaha! Yes, I am an Indian, been living here my whole life.
So we’re friends? Are you sure?

        • That would be very nice for me. But I don’t want to put you on the spot, as they say.

Well then I say, “Namaste” in my best Indian accent.
            🙂

            • I have been thinking about my offer of friendship. I will give you the same advice I would give my older daughter, who is a couple of years older than you, by the way.
Normally, if some guy on the Internet says he wants to be friends after knowing you for three minutes, you should keep a close eye on him and maybe be a little worried. Even if he does live on the other side of the planet. But in this case, since I am happily married and way to busy to be a threat to anybody even if I wanted to be, I will let you off with just a warning.
But I am excited to get to know someone from a fascinating part of the world, with rich history and culture. I wish people would use the internet for that more, and being obnoxious less.
All that being said, I am glad you are here… so to speak… and I really did get caught up in your enthusiasm.

Your fair warning has been duly noted. Normally, I am wary of stranger with too much wit and insanely awesome posts but considering the fact that you are an established writer and on the other side of the world I extend the olive branch with marshmallows on it. Also,I too may be an old spinster hoping to flirt with a happily married man. Plus, I am following you, maybe in a stalker-ish way? You have been warned.
                Mwahahahaa.
India is quite fascinating. The amount of issues that one could blog about are far too many. I am glad too have “followed” you. You sir are cool!

              • You are making me blush… mmmm… olive flavored marshmallows…

  7. shreyapunj's avatar shreyapunj says:

    I love the art.
But what I REALLY wanted to say was just how amazingly effingly impossibly cool and awesome are you?
I just glanced at your posts, really, just glanced and the wave, nay, BLAST of awesome that hit me has left my head reeling. F***ing funny!

    • I want to act shy and not braggy, but I can’t. I keep trying to tell people that if they scroll down through months and months of my old posts I can promise they will se something that they like. This stuff pours out of me. I have to limit myself to 2 or 3 post a day. You have no idea what my life was like when I had to tell this stuff to people one at a time.
      Thank you.
