A matter of life and breath…

a 1

This is life now. A thrown away mask, a windblown remnant of medical waste… perhaps contaminated, but probably not… lost or tossed by someone who may or may not have a job, left to be picked up by someone else, someone who has a job, but not a job that pays well, or will be recognized by the world at large for being as important as it is. Will this mask still be blowing around the streets after the pandemic is over, and the mask is no longer the symbol it has become? Will it go from poignant reminder to just trash, adding itself to the trash already choking our planet? Was it used in a protest for justice, still smelling of tear gas? How many millions of these have been made in the world, and where will they all end up?

    Cogent questions indeed

  2. I believe some of those masks may be recyclable. Latex gloves, no, but maybe face masks.

To me, those masks will always be a symbol of hope and safety. Stay well.
