We interrupt this program…

To bring you a special announcement…

I have been nominated for yet another award.

I would like to thank http://randomdeviations.wordpress.com/ for this wonderful honor.

I hope that link worked because I am a computer moron.

I am supposed to mention seven interesting things about myself, but I am not going to because this is a perfect opportunity for you to read some of my older posts and find out things about me that interest you, not me. My whole life story is there, so you shouldn’t have any trouble.

I am also supposed to suggest 15 other blogs that I would recommend to you. But that would mean fifteen separate links, and I do not even know if the first one worked, because I did it on my own without technical support. Also, I am not quite certain if these awards are genuine displays of admiration, or just some sort of pyramid scheme cooked up by WordPress to keep us busy congratulating ourselves. I apologize for this cynicism, but I am frustrated with WordPress because they never put my posts up on the humor wall of fame no matter how I tag them.

So instead of giving extra work to my other blogging friends, I am going to ask those of you who think they deserve this award to tell me why you think you should be the next recipient. I will then weigh the competition, and make my selections. Think of it as American Idol for bloggers, only with less judges.

On the other hand, I do think that if there is one thing my blog does manage to achieve, it is versatility, so maybe I am just being paranoid.

I’m humbled (and amused) that you selected me for one of these awards. (Thank you.) I only marginally chagrined that I had to crawl through muddy foxholes while extolling your virtues (read: beg) to get it. You are my hero and my King! (Until the next worthy candidate comes along peddling awards.)

In the meantime, keep blogging, you make me laugh. That’s seems more like the jester’s job but a bit of snarky humor in a King is a good thing. Isn’t it?

I’m liking the thought on self nominations. An interesting tactic. You could even save you a lot of work by requiring them to no only request, but post their own link and maybe a few words about why someone should go there.

Heck, while you are at it, require them to submit a post for your site so you can take a nap.

Then, once you narrow it down to the two finalist, they can duke it out with a good old fashion game of tag with those kids who keep beating you. Last one standing wins.

    just saying…..

Another well deserved award. Tagging Humor should show instantly-ish on the humor page but gets pushed back pretty quickly from everyone using the tag, I did one and found myself about 2 pages behind within about 10 minutes

Haha, well congrats on the award! You’re definitely bound to get Freshly Pressed one day or another 🙂 If that’s what you really want…

  5. Congrats man. But maybe you were only nominated because people know you’re going to briefly rule the universe at some point in the near future, and they really want to get on your good side.

Oh, I definitely think I deserve one because I come from an abusive home and my mother always loved my little sister more and I’ve never had a boyfriend who wasn’t a druggie and I’m 50 and still a virgin and I love you, Paula, or no, it’s Jennifer now isn’t it, and besides that I really want to win and this would let me buy my mom’s house back for her because she’s in foreclosure and she’s in a wheelchair and has no where to go and if she leaves this house she has to leave behind all the stuff she’s hoarding, and Randy, you are very cool dude and besides that my niece is on Toddlers and Tiaras and she never wins and I could buy off a couple of judges and maybe we could even take the whole family on that Rednecks’ Vacation show and Steven, you could go with us, so I really want the award, I’d perish if I don’t get it and just let me know if you need more reasons.

    • Um, despite the fact that I sense a certain sincerity (say that five times fast) lacking in your plea, you may very well have convinced me by pure weight of letters that you are deserving of this award.

I’d like to narrate a couple of your posts as part of my podcast series, Does This Happen to You. I’d link to your blog on my podcast page and identify you clearly as the writer.
Here is the link to my podcast page, http://kriskkaria.podbean.com. Its part of my goal to share other’s stories in audio.

You don’t want to be Freshly Pressed. Most of the things they put up there are fairly mediocre (excepting my friends that have been, of course!), and that’s something your blog is not.

    • I may be shooting myself in the foot by being permanently tagged as humor and still doing the humor tags… or WordPress is not amused by my constant jokes about them.

      • sj says:

Their criteria is…all over the place. Most of the things they select for the Humor FP are not really funny at all. Sometimes they’re even offensive.

        • I am still on the very top of the ‘sitting on the toilet’ wall, just because of a silly experiment I did. And I never have trouble getting on the science wall, or the writing or travel wall. I have made powerful enemies.

          • sj says:

Well, the thing with the Humor tag is that most everyone tags everything with Humor, even if it isn’t really funny. So, you never stay on that first page for long. The only way to get to the top of the page is if you’re Freshly Pressed. I think I’m at the top of the Trashy Tuesday page, because it’s not a common tag.
